We left Chimoio and the Pink Papaya and headed south east for the long drive to Vilanculos. We left around 10am but that was because we spotted another supermarket and bought some more goodies. We arrived in Vilanculos around 4.30pm. The road from Chimoio was pretty good apart from the potholes south of the River Save.

Vilanculos was a great bustling town with so much going on and if you love fish, there’s a market there where you can get your prawns for around 300MT/kilo, calamari, crayfish and so many more types of fish! The Baobab Tree Campsite was good and only a short walk from the beach. Lily enjoyed playing on the beach and running around the campsite. We stayed two nights before leaving for Inhambane.

We didn’t stay in Inhambane and instead found a campsite at Farrol Da Barra Lighthouse which was simply amazing. It was right on the coast with amazing views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. The people working at the campsite lit the fire to heat up our water for the showers and did this morning and evening which was great. You need a 4X4 to drive down the sandy 2km beach track but it is worth the drive!!!

Hi all, just catching up once again on your blog, all still sounds very exciting. When do your travels actually end? or…are they ongoing? Another little question is, what type of camera are you using? The photographs are great. Bye for now. Love Vron x
